Fertility And The Food You Eat – Knowing Foods That You Should Avoid To Prevent Infertility

If you are considering of getting pregnant, the first thing you’ll want to focus on is your diet. Sufficient and good quality nutrition is vital for both general health and fertility. Diet and fertility are closely associated. The types of food you consume, the nutritional value of your food, and how you prepare your meals can all influence your hormonal balance, which in turn determines your fertility level.

While there are particular kind of diets to help you get conceived faster, in this article, you’ll find out which foods to avoid because they are generally bad for your health and may negatively affect your fertility. Equip yourself with more knowledge on healthy lifestyle and diet to increase fertility naturally will be very helpful, too.

    Refined starches and simple sugars

Refined starches and simple sugars (abundantly found in pastries, breakfast cereals, white bread, cakes, packed foods, soft drinks, table sugar and honey, etc) cause blood sugar levels to fluctuate dramatically. This can lead to hormonal imbalance and therefore has an impact on your fertility. Blood sugar levels that rises and decreases irregularly may also lead to panic attacks during the daytime, or make you wake up from your sleep in the middle of the night, sweating and heart racing. You’ll probably feel lethargic during the day too.

Tips: If possible, eliminate sugar in your foods, this includes honey. Eat plenty of fresh fruits instead if you need something sweet.

    Bad fats

Bad fats are saturated fats, which are abundantly present in dairy products (e.g. butter), fatty meats, lard (i.e. animal fats), coconut oil or palm oil. Trans-fats (i.e. hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils), which are present in margarine, packaged foods, fast food, toppings and dips, are also bad fats.

Tips: To replace bad fats in your cooking, choose to use small amounts of polyunsaturated oils, such as sesame and canola oil. Use monounsaturated oils, such as olive oil, for salad dressing. You can use flaxseed oil as salad dressing too. They are the good fats – they absorb and keep the right amounts of fat-soluble vitamins (e.g. vitamins A, D, E and K) needed for reproductive health.

    Coffee

Some studies suggested that drinking a cuppa or two daily is not going to affect your fertility much. Nevertheless, some studies reported that a caffeine intake of 300 mg or more every day may cause you to take longer to get conceived, in addition to increased risk of miscarriage. In contrast, moderate coffee consumption in men seems to enhance sperm function.

Tips: Drink black or green tea instead of coffee. It is suspected that there may be other ingredients besides caffeine in the coffee that are affecting fertility.

Ten Best Tips For Women Who Want To Get Pregnant Fast

Woman who seem to get pregnant at will no doubt think that it’s easy to get pregnant, but for couples who want to get pregnant fast sometimes it’s a challenge. Below you will find my top ten tips to help you conceive.

    1. Learn your menstrual cycle. It’s incredible how many women who want to have a child never take the time to learn about their monthly cycle and when they are most likely to conceive. If you haven’t already done it, Google for an ovulation calculator and find out when the best days are for you to try and conceive.

    2. Throw out those jockey shorts. This is a serious issue that most physicians will tell you to look at when you’re having difficulty getting pregnant. The male scrotum is made to do one job: to control the temperature of the testes. You don’t think they be hanging out there exposed to danger if they didn’t need to be do you? Underwear that fit too tight trap body heat which is harmful to sperm cells.

    3. Make love in the A.M. Apparently your swimmers are morning people. Research has revealed that they are more active and more likely to make their way to the uterus first thing in the morning. Talk about a reason to get up each day.

    4. Take your vitamins. Vitamins are not just for after you’ve become pregnant. Folic acid is known to be needed for proper baby development but some women forget that in order to conceive in the first place your body needs to be as healthy as possible. So start taking those vitamins now.

    5. Make your husband take his vitamins. Hello. Not only does your body need to be in good health but so does your husband’s. Vitamin C is helpful for sperm mobility and you definitely need those swimmers to be a strong as possible. Besides, he might need to have some stamina if this turns into a long term project.

    6. Relax. The human body has an amazingly negative reaction to stress. Overstress yourself and entire systems in your body can all but shut down. Since your body wants to stay alive first and foremost, stress may cause secondary systems in your body like your reproductive system to be put on hold. We’ve all read about female athletes whose monthly cycle has stopped during intense periods of training.

    7. Get plenty of sleep. Like stress, lack of sleep can also cause your body systems to shut down. In rare cases people have been known to die due to lack of sleep. If not sleeping is enough to stop your heart it certainly will have a negative effect on your ability to get pregnant.

    8. Have regular intercourse. Couples that have sex every other day are almost guaranteed to be having sex during one of the woman’s most fertile days. Regular sex also reduces stress and aids in your ability to get a good night’s sleep.

    9. Exercise and eat right. I could have made them two separate issues but I need room for one more. This all falls back onto the idea that your overall health is critical to your ability to get pregnant. Women who want to get pregnant, should always be getting at least some regular mild exercise and eating as much healthy food as they can stand.

    10. Avoid excessive coffee and smoking. Always prescribed for women who are already pregnant; stopping smoking now and reducing your daily coffee intake prior to conceiving increases the chances that you’ll get pregnant.
As you can see from these tips, a holistic approach to conceiving has the best chance of working. Making sure that you’ve covered all the bases can mean the difference between conceiving and not.

Most Fertile Days Of The Month – Avoid The Most Common Mistake!

How can you accurately predict the most fertile days of the month? Is there one method that works for all women? To start with there are as many unique menstrual cycles as there are women in this world (and there are lots of them). Its not an exact science but there are methods to determine the most fertile time in the female fertility cycle.

The most common mistake that women make in estimating fertile days is to assume that ovulation always occurs 14 days after the last day of your period. This is untrue as the monthly cycles differ from one woman to the next. Your body is also in constant change from month to month.

How can you tell your most fertile days of the month?
•The most fertile days of the month occur when you ovulate. Ovulation is when one or more eggs are released from one of your ovaries. An egg survives only 24 hours after ovulation. However, sperm can survive about 3-7 days. You therefore have about 4-5 most fertile days of the month.

•The majority of women of reproductive age ovulate almost every month. However, many women have occasional cycles when they do not ovulate which may be due to significant stress. A minority of women ovulate very irregularly or do not ovulate at all.

•Your period normally comes about 12 -16 days after ovulation. Therefore, in the average 28 day cycle (the first day of menstruation being day one) ovulation takes place around day 13 to 15. These are the most fertile days of the month. The least likely time to conceive is from day one to day seven.

•The length of a normal menstrual cycle however varies between 23 and 35 days. Ovulation could therefore occur earlier or later in your cycle. The most important thing to remember is that the egg is produced about 12-16 days before the next period starts. So there’s always a bit of estimation involved.

•However there are many different ways to predict ovulation and determine your most fertile days of the month. Some are more accurate than others but the important thing is to understand how your body works. These methods include charting your basal body temperature, monitoring your cervical mucus or using an ovulation predictor kit.

•Once you are in tune with your body, you can easily tell which changes signify the onset of ovulation and take full advantage of these fertile days.

Do you know that fertile couples have only a 20 to 30 per cent chance of conceiving each cycle? Are you or someone you love struggling to get pregnant?
